Machine Learning Engineer (Search) – E‑commerce

About the role

TikTok is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design and build large‑scale algorithms that power its e‑commerce search experience. You will work on ranking, query analysis, and other key metrics to improve relevance, click‑through, and conversion rates.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement machine‑learning solutions for e‑commerce search, optimizing relevance, CTR, and conversion.
• Analyze massive user‑query data to create algorithmic strategies that boost merchant matching and monetization.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support rapid growth of TikTok’s e‑commerce platform.

Required profile

• Strong programming foundation in at least one language such as C++, Python, or Shell.
• Experience developing algorithms on large‑scale sparse data, familiar with Sparse LR, DFFM, Deep&Wide, DSSM.
• Proficiency with a deep‑learning framework (TensorFlow, Caffe, or MXNet).
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a team.
