LPN Lead – Oncology Clinic (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Oncology Clinic at Ochsner Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Lead to provide direct, individualized nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, mid‑level provider, or physician. This full‑time, onsite position supports a compassionate, inclusive team dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective nursing care during patient visits, answer questions, and escalate critical information.
• Administer medications, complete medical/legal documentation, and coordinate day‑to‑day clinical tasks to ensure efficient department operation.
• Maintain professional knowledge and licensure through continuing education and support the healthcare team with data collection and service delivery.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Minimum 2 years LPN experience, or 1 year LPN experience plus 1 year supervisory experience.
• Current LPN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred experience in ambulatory care.

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal abilities, and confidentiality handling.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision and flexible scheduling (including weekends, holidays, on‑call).
