Logistics Management Specialist

About the role

NASA is hiring a Logistics Management Specialist (GS-07, competitive service) to support Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The position is full-time, permanent and telework eligible according to agency policy, with occasional travel. It requires a background check and a Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Drive light- to medium-duty vehicles to move materials between facilities, following cargo-securing and safety rules.
• Track vehicle mileage, monitor basic maintenance needs and update inventory logs.
• Receive inbound freight, inspect shipments for transit damage and verify items against packing slips and purchase orders.
• Log received materials into the inventory tracking system and stage them in holding areas.
• Operate material-handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to load, unload and move supplies.

Required profile

• Open to U.S. citizens, nationals or those owing allegiance to the U.S.; a one-year probationary period may apply.
• One year of specialized experience operating vehicles or material-handling equipment, receiving and inspecting shipments, and supporting fleet operations; or a graduate degree, a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement, or an equivalent mix of experience and study.
