Liver Transplant Coordinator

About the role

The Liver Transplant Coordinator oversees all liver transplant patient activities at Florida Weston Hospital, supporting physicians, patients, families and donors throughout the transplant process.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients in the outpatient clinic with the transplant physician and develop care plans.
• Coordinate scheduling of follow‑up appointments, consultations, and pre‑transplant testing.
• Assemble and review medical information, test results, and tissue typing for recipients and donors.
• Place patients on the national waiting list and manage ongoing inpatient and outpatient care.
• Serve as the primary contact for insurance clearance, patient education, and coordination with the Organ Procurement Organization.
• Provide on‑call support, respond to beeper/phone alerts, and assist with discharge planning.

Required profile

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum two years of RN experience, including one year in acute‑care hospital settings.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, transplant or GI experience, ICU experience, endoscopy background, and three or more years of RN experience.
