Literacy Tutor K-3 (In-Person – Richmond, VA)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Literacy Tutor to work one‑on‑one or with small groups of K‑3 students in Richmond Public Schools. The role is part‑time, on‑site, and runs throughout the school year, providing high‑impact tutoring to help close the literacy achievement gap.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence‑based reading instruction to early readers in individual or small‑group settings.
• Support students during the school day across multiple elementary schools.
• Track student progress and adjust tutoring strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and program staff to align tutoring with classroom goals.

Required profile

• Strong enthusiasm for education and literacy development.
• Ability to work with young children in a classroom environment.
• Commitment to a part‑time schedule of approximately 29 hours per week, Monday‑Friday.
