Special Education Teacher – Fauquier County (2026‑2027)

About the role

We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to join Fauquier County Public Schools for the 2026‑2027 school year. Teachers will work in small, supportive classrooms of eight students with three teachers, providing individualized instruction and behavioral support across preschool to secondary levels.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction and behavior support for students with Autism and other developmental disabilities.
• Implement, monitor, and document Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
• Collaborate daily with general‑education teachers, families, and related service providers.
• Apply evidence‑based strategies to develop communication, social, and academic skills.
• Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes independence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid Virginia Special Education license or eligibility for licensure.
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and behavior‑management abilities.
