Line Cook (Part-Time)

About the role

Experience Senior Living is looking for a part-time Line Cook to join its team in Marysville. The role provides a high level of culinary customer service and promotes a fine dining experience for residents, working closely with the Director of Culinary Services and/or Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and approved menus, and prepare snacks and beverages for residents at all times.
• Estimate daily or weekly food and supply needs and communicate them to the Director of Culinary Services or assistant Director.
• Maintain kitchen and food storage and preparation areas clean, safe and sanitary, and adhere to cleaning schedules.
• Document food temperatures before service, in refrigeration and in freezers.
• Open and close the kitchen, keep floors clean and empty trash, and assist with transporting and storing food and supplies.
• Assist with special events, banquets and theme meals, and attend the pre-meal stand-up in the kitchen.
• Receive, store and prepare food according to company standards, and operate and maintain kitchen equipment in a clean, sanitary manner.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 to 3 years of experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment.
• Food handler's permit as required by state law and/or company standards.
• Able to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings and holidays.

Required skills

• Able to read and follow recipes, production guides, cleaning schedules and logs.
• Ability to handle multiple jobs and priorities, accept direction from supervisors, and give and welcome feedback.
