About the role
The Licensed Practical Nurse – Scrub Technician joins the surgical team to maintain a sterile field and support surgeons during operative procedures. This position ensures patient safety and efficient workflow in the operating room.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field using aseptic techniques.
- Anticipate surgeon needs, handling instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Perform surgical counts and organize case carts for upcoming procedures.
- Collaborate with the circulating nurse to set up the operating room.
- Conduct in‑between case cleaning and turnover of the OR suite.
Required profile
- Technical School Diploma – LPN program (less than 1 year experience).
- Current Pennsylvania LPN license and Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to lift/carry 40‑50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform patient transfers.
- Effective communication and adaptability in a fast‑changing healthcare environment.
Required skills
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and medical/surgical supplies.
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association).
