Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Full Time

About the role

The Department of Integrative Health Services at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide psychosocial support to patients and families at the Lennar Foundation Medical Center in collaboration with Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. The role involves assessment, intervention, therapy delivery, and discharge planning for hospitalized individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments of patients and families to identify emotional, social, and environmental needs.
• Administer a broad variety of individual, group, and family therapies as the social work expert.
• Develop and implement intervention plans using appropriate social work techniques.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary health‑care team and involve patients/families in care planning.
• Facilitate discharge planning across the care continuum, coordinating with physicians, payers, and other providers.
• Provide education and counseling on adaptation to illness and life situations.
• Supervise Master of Social Work (MSW) students and serve as a resource to staff.
• Participate in research and education programs as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s Degree in Social Work.
• Current LCSW certification and licensing.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to handle stressful situations professionally.
• Commitment to the University’s core values and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
