Legal Assistant – Insurance Reimbursement Team

About the role

The Legal Assistant supports a recovery pod that handles subrogation and third‑party liability (TPL) efforts for health plans. You will manage daily administration of insurance recovery cases, ensuring files are organized and case statuses are up to date so attorneys can focus on negotiations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage administrative tasks for active health‑plan subrogation and insurance recovery cases.
• Answer inbound calls and emails regarding TPL claims, liens, coverage questions, and documentation requests.
• Communicate with plaintiff attorneys, insurance adjusters, claim representatives, and carriers.
• Send lien notices, confirm receipt, and follow up on missing materials.
• Prepare, organize, and route documentation for Team Leads and Attorneys.
• Monitor case status, flag coverage or timing concerns, and maintain complete case notes in recovery systems.

Required profile

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred or equivalent industry experience (4+ years).
• Experience in insurance claims, health‑plan operations, subrogation, TPL, workers’ compensation, auto liability, or legal administration.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle high‑volume claim files.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a professional, service‑oriented approach.

Required skills

• Familiarity with carriers, TPAs, and liability insurers.
• Proficiency in using claims and recovery systems for documentation and tracking.
