Lecturer in Chemistry (Biochemistry & Organic Chemistry)

About the role

The Department of Natural Sciences at Texas A&M University‑San Antonio seeks a full‑time Lecturer in Chemistry to teach undergraduate courses in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and introductory chemistry. The appointment begins in Fall 2026 and supports the growth of a new chemistry degree program.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lecture and laboratory instruction for organic chemistry, biochemistry, and entry‑level chemistry courses (equivalent to 30 credit hours per year, 5/5 teaching load).
• Participate in departmental and programmatic meetings.
• Contribute to curriculum development, accreditation efforts, and student‑success initiatives.
• Engage in recruitment and outreach activities for the chemistry program.

Required profile

• MS in Chemistry with a specialization in biochemistry or organic chemistry.
• Proven experience teaching biochemistry, organic chemistry, and foundational chemistry courses at the college level as instructor of record.
• Demonstrated ability to implement evidence‑based, innovative pedagogical approaches.
• Excellent communication and interaction skills with students and faculty.
