Learning and Development Director

About the role

The Learning and Development Director will design, implement and lead structured training programs that support growth, engagement and operational excellence across all functions of The Chefs' Warehouse. This senior role partners with leadership to ensure employees acquire the right skills at each career stage.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a company‑wide training framework organized by employee level, from entry onboarding to leadership readiness.
• Partner with senior leaders to identify training needs in operations, logistics, warehouse safety, compliance and customer‑facing roles.
• Design, roll out and govern learning pathways using classroom, e‑learning, on‑the‑job and coaching modalities.
• Ensure all programs meet OSHA, DOT and food‑safety regulatory requirements and track effectiveness through metrics.
• Manage the Learning Management System and introduce emerging technologies such as mobile learning, micro‑learning and virtual training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years progressive experience in Learning and Development, preferably in food distribution, supply chain or logistics.
• Demonstrated ability to align training initiatives with business priorities and talent pipelines.
• Strong communication, facilitation and program design capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management System platforms.
• Experience creating e‑learning content and applying instructional design methodologies.
• Knowledge of mobile learning, micro‑learning and virtual training technologies.
