Lead Technician, Operations

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Technician to join our Operations team at the animal vaccine facility in Millsboro, Delaware. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC and environmental control systems that support our high‑growth poultry vaccine production.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair process control and environmental control HVAC systems, including ultra‑cold freezers and process chillers.
• Own operational performance and regulatory compliance for all site HVAC equipment.
• Provide timely status updates to internal customers and maintain spare‑parts inventories.
• Support investigations of abnormal equipment performance and participate in safety initiatives such as lock‑out/tag‑out and confined‑space permitting.
• Deliver training to team members and contribute to a high‑performance, inclusive work environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; A.S. in a technical discipline preferred.
• Minimum three years experience with commercial refrigeration equipment and five years with HVAC systems.
• Universal refrigerant license and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lb and work from ladders or elevated platforms.
• Willingness to participate in on‑call rotation and adhere to OSHA General Industry standards.

Required skills

• HVAC and refrigeration system maintenance.
• Chillers, cooling towers, ultra‑cold freezers, freeze‑dryers, and liquid nitrogen equipment.
• General plumbing and pipe‑fitting.
• Electrical controls for HVACR systems and blueprint/schematic interpretation.
• CMMS utilization and Journeyman or Master HVACR licensing.
• Experience with Siemens building management systems and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
