Lead PV Solar Technician

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is looking for a Lead PV Solar Technician to head the technical team at its Union Solar Farm. The role ensures safe, reliable operation of solar and energy‑storage assets while driving performance and mentoring on‑site personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor site technicians to achieve operational excellence and strict safety compliance.
• Act as the primary site representative for employees, visitors, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Conduct inspections, audits and safety analyses, enforce PPE usage and lead emergency response actions.
• Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of PV modules, inverters, battery storage, substations and balance‑of‑plant equipment.
• Support commissioning, testing, installations and performance optimisation of solar and storage systems.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in solar, renewable energy or a related electrical/mechanical field with proven leadership experience.
• Strong ability to manage teams in a fast‑paced outdoor environment.
• Experience with high‑voltage electrical equipment, power electronics, substation and control systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, electrical test equipment and reading schematics, one‑line and wiring diagrams.
• Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and operational software.
• Willingness to travel, work overtime, night shifts and rotating schedules.
• High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred), valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a U.S. passport.
