Lead Groundskeeper

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Lead Groundskeeper in Orlando, Florida, working a day shift (5:30 AM to 2:30 PM Monday to Thursday, 5:30 AM to 11:30 AM Friday). The role leads grounds maintenance on a healthcare campus, supervising workers and keeping the site tidy and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Perform landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, watering and fertilizing, and treat nuisance weeds with chemical or physical methods.
• Manage routine and emergency grounds maintenance, ensuring timely completion.
• Supervise workers assigned to the campus, monitoring their assignments and progress.
• Keep equipment in good working order, report issues promptly and maintain current performance standards.
• Hold daily pre-shift meetings and communicate issues and progress with the department manager.
• Collaborate with campus security and the Facilities Manager on matters affecting daily operations.
• Provide customer service and hold yourself and the team accountable to departmental standards.

Required profile

• 3+ years of general groundskeeper maintenance experience.
• Landscaping maintenance experience.
• Ability to lead small teams and delegate responsibilities.
• Good reading, writing, speaking and comprehension of English.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience at a healthcare facility preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of landscape maintenance and horticultural practices, including plant identification.
• Use of common equipment such as weed eaters, hedge trimmers, edgers and mowers.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
