Groundskeeper II

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time, day-shift Groundskeeper II at its Orlando facility (10999 Narcoossee Rd, Narcoossee, FL). The role covers routine grounds maintenance, plant care and equipment upkeep on campus, with a schedule of 5:30-2:30 Monday to Thursday and 5:30-11:30 Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment usage and supply inventories.
• Perform planting, mowing, edging, mulching, trimming, pruning, blowing, watering and spraying according to campus schedules and department standards.
• Carry out daily trash and debris clean-up to keep the area clean and safe.
• Treat nuisance weeds and undesirable vegetation in landscape bedding using chemical or physical methods per department guidelines.
• Operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment, and monitor the health and appearance of plants and turf, recommending improvements as needed.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides and other chemicals safely and in line with regulations.
• Assist with landscape design and installation projects and inspect grounds regularly to spot areas needing maintenance.

Required profile

• Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
• General knowledge of grounds maintenance and landscape plants used in the state.
• Able to read, write, speak and understand conversational English.
• Valid driver's license.
• Preferred: 2+ years of groundskeeper maintenance experience.

Required skills

• Skilled with common landscape equipment such as weedeaters, hedge trimmers, edgers and hand mowers.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

The pay range is $16.79-$26.86. Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
