Floor Technician

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Floor Technician for its night shift in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. The position works 40 hours a week and adjusts to staff shortages, covering other assigned areas as needed. Trainees with no prior experience start at $18.00 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze carpeted and hard surface floors and apply the correct maintenance procedures.
• Perform cleaning using the department-approved process in all assigned areas.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Monitor and report equipment issues or shortages, stock supplies and document daily assignments completed.
• Assess areas of assignment and suggest improvements to the supervisor.

Required profile

• 1+ year of floor technician experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to communicate in English and to climb and work on a ladder.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of floor care maintenance processes (preferred).
• Ability to safely use floor care equipment such as commercial rotary machines, auto scrubbers, vacuums and floor burnishers (preferred).
• Demonstrated knowledge of environmental services equipment and chemicals used in the department.
• Basic computer skills, including mouse and keyboard use.
