Lead Data Analyst

About the role

The Lead Data Analyst will serve as the technical lead for complex public‑health and nutrition research projects at Texas A&M Agrilife Research. Reporting to senior management, this role ensures data analysis activities align with organizational goals and research standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for data analysis across a portfolio of research projects.
• Supervise, mentor, and support data analysts and junior statisticians, delegating tasks and ensuring quality.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve data analysis workflows and best‑practice standards.
• Document and maintain data structures to support current and future research objectives.
• Develop and apply advanced statistical models such as multilevel, mixed‑effects, and longitudinal analyses.
• Lead the creation of statistical analysis plans, including power and sample‑size calculations for diverse study designs.
• Oversee data collection systems, ensuring data integrity, cleaning procedures, and quality‑assurance activities.
• Coordinate acquisition, cleaning, merging, and management of data from multiple secondary sources.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading data‑analysis teams in research or public‑health settings.
• Strong supervisory and mentorship abilities.
