Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform

About the role

The Data Platform team at Motional builds the core services and infrastructure that turn petabytes of raw data into actionable insights for machine‑learning and autonomy engineers. As a Senior Software Engineer you will help design, develop, and operate scalable data pipelines, discovery, and lineage systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build the next generation of data infrastructure for discovery and lineage.
• Develop scalable backend services that handle petabyte‑scale data processing.
• Write high‑quality, maintainable code in Python and SQL.
• Lead system‑level design discussions and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Maintain and evolve cloud‑based ETL pipelines using AWS services.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience as a data engineer or data pipeline engineer.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong development experience with Python and SQL.
• Expertise with AWS services such as EKS, Lambda, and ETL solutions.
• Experience designing and developing distributed systems.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, continuous‑delivery environment.
