Security Analyst I

About the role

The Security Analyst I will support Texas A&M University’s IT Security & Risk team by strengthening the security posture of university IT resources. This entry‑level position focuses on vulnerability management, risk remediation, and security architecture support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in enforcing, auditing, and consulting on security policies and procedures.
• Support data security administration, conduct audits, review violation reports, and investigate exceptions.
• Participate in internal investigations of possible security incidents.
• Help develop risk analysis scenarios and response procedures.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of data, system, and network security architecture.
• Assist with technology deployments, integration testing, and evaluation of security products.
• Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to define specifications for service‑based solutions.
• Create and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or early‑career professional with interest in information security.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non‑technical teams.

Required skills
