Lead Architect for Federal Projects

About the role

Lead Architect at LBYD Federal will direct large‑scale federal architecture projects, ensuring high‑quality design, budget compliance, and client satisfaction. The role involves both office‑based planning and occasional field work.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project scope, schedules, and budgets while meeting client and regulatory requirements.
• Research codes, policies, and regulations to support technical recommendations.
• Conduct field investigations, review as‑built drawings, and produce detailed reports.
• Lead meetings with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, providing minutes and action items.
• Review technical reports, RFIs, designs, and submittals for compliance.
• Oversee design development from schematic to construction documents and support construction field activities.
• Manage team resources, mentor junior staff, and contribute to proposal development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
• 15+ years of architectural design experience.
• U.S. Registered Architect (RA) and U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to obtain security clearance and travel as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (basic understanding).
• Advanced use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Knowledge of construction practices, methods, and management.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents and produce technical reports.
