Laundry Aide (Part-Time)

About the role

Monarch Communities Senior Living is hiring a part-time Laundry Aide in Colts Neck. The role covers day-to-day laundry functions in resident living areas, including collecting, sorting, washing, pressing and distributing clean linens and garments, and includes some light cleaning duties. Pay is $16.50 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, sort and weigh soiled laundry, linen and garments, separate items needing special stain treatment, and place them in the right containers or areas.
• Sort, count and wash soiled items according to established procedures, then press/iron garments as instructed.
• Fold, count, stack, hang and distribute clean laundry and linen to residents daily or as instructed, and ensure clean items are available in designated areas during emergencies.
• Clean floors (sweeping, dusting, damp mopping) with safety signs in place, and keep walls and ceilings clean and disinfected.
• Remove dirt and grease from equipment and floor surfaces, discard waste properly and follow cleaning schedules.
• Report accidents and incidents to the supervisor on the same shift, and coordinate daily laundry services with nursing services in resident areas.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Previous laundry experience preferred.
• Able to read, write, speak and communicate well, and to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push and pull at least 50 pounds.
• Willingness to move intermittently and deal with frequent interruptions.

Required skills

• Ability to operate a washer and dryer safely and efficiently.
