Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT)

About the role

Cardinal Civil Resources is seeking a Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) to join its growing team in Williamsburg. The LSIT will manage scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and client interactions for projects within the service area.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee production of surveyors and CAD technicians, schedule field and office work, and monitor project progress.
• Prepare work plans, assemble project teams, delegate tasks, and ensure timely, accurate, and financially sound project delivery.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, evaluate policies for efficiency, and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Perform survey calculations, analysis, final map checking, and review of title data and record drawings.
• Collaborate with licensed surveyors, engineers, and technical staff, and assist field crews as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; additional college coursework or apprenticeship highly desirable; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of land surveying experience and eligibility to take the LSIT exam.
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable record.
