Lab Associate - Flow Cytometry

About the role

IQVIA is seeking a Laboratory Associate in Flow Cytometry for its laboratory business in Valencia, California. The shift runs Tuesday to Saturday, 4 PM to 12:30 AM. The role covers analytical procedures, data analysis, quality support and mentoring of entry-level staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and document analytical procedures in line with SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Analyze routine data to check that procedures stay within acceptable tolerances and flag unusual results to senior lab personnel.
• Prepare data analysis results for upload to the LIMS system under senior staff guidance.
• Assist in quality investigations, deviations and resolution, and prepare buffers and solutions as required.
• Help review and update laboratory procedures and techniques, and guide entry-level staff and support onboarding.
• Perform and document calibration and maintenance of equipment, and train other lab personnel in areas of proven competency.
• Notify inventory staff of supply shortages, and may represent the lab on cross-functional projects.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders, take part in continuing education, and support safety, quality and 6S requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and experience; some CAP/CLIA locations may require a BSc in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology or cytotechnology.
• 6 months of experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
• Working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards such as GLP, and of laboratory safety and infection control.
• Experience with automation or specialized laboratory equipment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with routine and some non-routine laboratory calculations (averages, means, standard deviations, quality control metrics).
• Good computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to handle multiple tasks at once.

The potential base pay range, annualized, is $34,700 to $72,300, depending on qualifications, location and schedule; additional compensation may include incentives, bonuses and benefits.
