Medical Lab Technician (MLT) - Hematology

About the role

IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA is seeking a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) specializing in hematology. The role involves routine hematology testing and analysis following SOPs and regulatory guidelines, with a schedule of Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and document analytical testing procedures according to SOPs and regulatory requirements
• Analyze laboratory data and evaluate results against quality and performance expectations
• Identify unusual results, performance issues or deviations and escalate them to senior laboratory personnel
• Maintain, calibrate and document laboratory equipment, and prepare buffers, solutions and analytical materials
• Support training and onboarding of laboratory personnel, and assist with procedural updates, process improvements and inventory management
• Communicate with laboratory and cross-functional stakeholders while supporting safety and quality initiatives

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; some CAP/CLIA locations may require a BS in a laboratory science field
• 6 months of experience in a regulated laboratory environment
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license (required)
• Knowledge of GLP and laboratory safety, infection control and hazardous chemical handling

Required skills

• Proficiency with relevant laboratory techniques and experience with automation or specialized equipment
• Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
• Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Routine and non-routine laboratory calculations, including quality control metrics and statistics

What we offer

• Base pay range of $42,700 to $89,000 per year, depending on qualifications, location and schedule
