Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) - Automated Chemistry

About the role

IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) for its Automated Chemistry area. The role provides professional and technical expertise for automated and manual clinical laboratory testing, supporting clinical research and patient care, within the scope of a valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license. The schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, 6:00 pm to 2:30 am.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and report automated and manual clinical laboratory testing with minimal supervision
• Verify quality control results and release laboratory results in line with licensing and regulatory requirements
• Maintain laboratory inventory, prepare reagents and keep equipment and testing materials ready
• Troubleshoot laboratory processes and report testing irregularities that may affect results
• Support assay validations, improvements and implementation of new testing configurations
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, GCLP, safety, quality and company procedures
• Take part in audits, inspections, continuing education and training
• Support special projects and other lab responsibilities as assigned

Required profile

• Valid Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) license
• Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Up to 5 years of relevant experience in a regulated laboratory
• Knowledge of GCLP, CLIA requirements and applicable regulatory standards
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk frequently, and work closely with eyes (computer, typing, small print); occasional cold exposure

The stated base pay range is $46,200 to $96,200 per year, depending on qualifications, location and schedule; additional compensation may depend on the position offered.
