Kidney Transplant Coordinator

About the role

The Kidney Transplant Coordinator oversees and manages all kidney transplant patient activities at Florida Weston Hospital, supporting caregivers, patients, and families throughout the transplant process.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients in the outpatient clinic with the transplant physician and facilitate care plans.
• Coordinate scheduling, follow‑up appointments, and communication with referring physicians.
• Manage pre‑transplant evaluation, tissue typing, and placement on the national waiting list.
• Provide education sessions for patients, families, and donors and serve as the contact for insurance and physician inquiries.
• Collaborate with the Organ Procurement Organization and hospital units for organ procurement and transplant surgeries.

Required profile

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least two years of RN experience, including one year in acute care.
• Strong knowledge of transplant, ICU, or endoscopy environments preferred.

Required skills

• BLS certification.
• Registered Nurse (RN) clinical skills.
• Acute care disease‑related hospital experience.
• Transplant coordination experience (preferred).
• ICU and endoscopy background (preferred).
