Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II

About the role

The State of Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II to provide social services and support the rehabilitation of juvenile offenders on probation or parole.

Key responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to assess progress and compliance with rehabilitation plans.
• Recommend remedial or court action for non‑compliance and administer drug/alcohol testing.
• Prepare and maintain case files, write progress reports, and testify in court regarding offender backgrounds.
• Coordinate medical, mental health, and substance‑abuse treatment services as required.
• Supervise community‑based sentences, conduct curfew checks, and perform field supervision at homes, schools, or workplaces.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related field with two years of relevant experience, or four years of direct case‑management experience with offenders.
• Or two years of experience at the lower‑level Juvenile Probation/Parole Specialist I level.
• Must obtain and maintain State of Georgia P.O.S.T. certification within six months of hire.
• Ability to meet agency physical agility standards and pass required assessments.
