Litigation Legal Assistant - Personal Injury (100% Remote)

About the role

A U.S.-based law firm is hiring an experienced bilingual Litigation Legal Assistant to support active personal injury litigation cases from intake through demand. The role covers core legal assistant duties plus managing service emails from opposing counsel and the court, so deadline awareness and procedural precision are essential. It is 100% remote.

Key responsibilities

• Send and process health insurance, Medicaid, workers' compensation, VA and STD/LTD liens by certified mail and fax
• Order and process PIP logs and forward updated insurance letters to providers once benefits are exhausted
• Download, request and process medical records and bills from provider portals and third-party services such as Chartswap
• Verify balances on the medical tab, follow up by phone on unresolved balances and document all activity
• Compile demand exhibits, send completed demand packages and follow up on receipt
• Download and save service emails for documents filed by opposing counsel or the judge
• Maintain file organization using the firm's naming convention and run scheduled file reviews
• Follow up with clients on health cards, wage verification forms and outstanding items
• Conduct FLMVR and LexisNexis searches and obtain crash reports as assigned

Required profile

• Bilingual English and Spanish, written and spoken
• Experience in Florida personal injury litigation (required)
• Familiarity with service of process, court filings and opposing counsel communications in a litigation setting
• Strong understanding of lien processing, PIP, medical records and demand preparation
• Attention to deadlines and procedural detail, and excellent communication with providers, adjusters, courts and clients
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
