Settlement Assistant - Personal Injury (100% Remote)

About the role

A U.S.-based Florida personal injury law firm is hiring a bilingual Settlement Assistant through its staffing partner, Arvenda. This is a 100% remote support role for the settlement process, requiring excellent organization, strong multitasking and a task-oriented approach. The firm must be confident that the candidate can handle requests accurately, professionally and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with medical providers to verify balances and request reductions
• Request lien reductions on behalf of clients
• Assist clients with executing settlement paperwork and receiving settlement checks
• Answer incoming calls professionally and efficiently
• Follow up with medical providers and insurance companies to keep cases on track
• Handle electronic signature requests from clients and attorneys
• Make sure every release is reviewed by the attorney before any settlement is processed
• Give estimates to case managers when asked
• Help create mediation spreadsheets and verify that checks and releases have been received before funds are disbursed
• Create accurate settlement statements and handle ongoing client communication

Required profile

• Bilingual English and Spanish, written and spoken
• Experience in Florida personal injury law
• Strong understanding of the settlement process: lien reductions, releases and disbursements
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
• Comfortable handling sensitive financial and legal information with discretion
