Junior Software Developer

About the role

Join MANTECH’s dynamic team in Doral, FL, and contribute to national security projects through cutting‑edge software development. This junior position offers the chance to work on backend services, front‑end interfaces, and modern DevOps practices.

Key responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable code for backend web services, application logic, and RESTful APIs.
• Assist in designing, developing, and unit testing responsive front‑end user interfaces and web components.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional Agile teams, participating in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Develop and optimize database scripts, queries, and schemas in relational DBMS.
• Containerize applications and support automated deployments, configuration management, and version control workflows.
• Create and update user documentation, technical specifications, and system architecture diagrams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related STEM field with at least 1 year of software development experience (or equivalent education/experience combinations).
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work onsite in a stationary position for 50% of the time and communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, C#, or C++).
• Basic knowledge of front‑end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
• Familiarity with front‑end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Experience with Docker containerization and Ansible configuration tools.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud‑hosted environments.
• Active or obtainable CompTIA Security+ certification within 6 months.
