Job Captain – Architecture & Interior Design

About the role

CARMW architecture & interiors is seeking a Job Captain to lead the production of architectural and interior design documents for a variety of projects in its San Francisco studio. The role bridges concept design and construction documentation, ensuring technical quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical drawings and construction documents from schematic through construction phases.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and Project Architect on program, budget, schedule and design development.
• Research and apply building codes, municipal requirements and sustainability standards.
• Prepare presentations, specifications and material selections under guidance.
• Supervise and conduct initial quality‑control reviews, enlisting technical leads for full QA/QC.
• Integrate building systems, structure and technology solutions into design sets.
• Manage consultant deliverables and conduct construction administration, including site observations, RFIs and submittals.

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Flexibility to work on multiple assignments within a team.
