Interventional Radiology Technologist II

About the role

The Interventional Radiology Technologist II provides sterile diagnostic, radiographic and therapeutic procedures, administers contrast agents, and assists physicians in a high‑acuity hospital environment. The position includes rotating on‑call duties and care for patients from newborn to geriatric ages.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sterile IR, embolic and therapeutic procedures, and manage contrast administration.
• Assist physicians during fluoroscopic interventions while maintaining sterile technique.
• Prepare and process diagnostic quality images, label them correctly, and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain equipment, report malfunctions, and keep the IR lab clean and organized.
• Provide post‑procedure patient care, including pressure holding, suturing, bandaging and monitoring for complications.

Required profile

• Technical School Diploma in Radiology or equivalent.
• RT – Registered Technologist Radiology – State of Pennsylvania.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work in stressful situations, lift 40‑50 lb, and stand for long periods.

Required skills

• Sterile technique and scrub assistance.
• Contrast preparation and injection under physician supervision.
• Fluoroscopy equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Image acquisition, labeling and documentation.
• ARRT certification – State of Pennsylvania (preferred).
