InterSystems IRIS / Caché Database Administrator (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced InterSystems IRIS / Caché Database Administrator to support a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This 100% remote position works with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Data Migration and Management services, ensuring the availability and performance of mission‑critical database environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure, upgrade, patch and troubleshoot InterSystems IRIS and Caché databases across Development, Test, Staging and Production.
• Monitor IRIS Mirror consistency, VistA Shadow, Ensemble/HealthShare transmissions, high‑availability setups, storage utilization, encryption, backups and data‑quality indicators.
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning and proactive monitoring to maintain system reliability.
• Execute and validate backup and recovery activities, including regular recovery testing.
• Support InterSystems IRIS on Linux in bare‑metal, VM and containerized environments and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on database administration experience, including extensive work with InterSystems Caché and/or IRIS.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to resolve complex database and platform issues.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Government/Public Trust clearance.
