Internal Tooling & Integration Engineer

About the role

Quartermaster is seeking an Internal Tooling & Integration Engineer to own automated test frameworks, quality assurance tooling, and integration pipelines for its maritime intelligence platform. You will design and scale internal test platforms, create verification suites, and ensure reliable data flows between edge devices and cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy automated test frameworks and validation tools for software, hardware, and operations teams.
• Develop end‑to‑end integration tests, regression suites, and ETL data quality checks for system telemetry and third‑party APIs.
• Implement backend integration services and test scripts using Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java to simulate operational environments.
• Set up monitoring, automated alerting, and CI/CD pipelines to maintain continuous integration and software quality.
• Investigate complex software, firmware, and data integration failures, performing root‑cause analysis across distributed systems.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software test engineering or test automation experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java.
• Experience testing RESTful APIs, integration services, and complex data flows in microservices architectures.
• Proficiency with SQL and database query validation.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and containerized environments (Docker, AWS, Kubernetes).
