Internal Medicine Physician

About the role

The Internal Medicine Physician provides long‑term, comprehensive care to patients of the Colusa Indian Health Clinic, managing both common and complex diseases while promoting healthy lifestyles within the Tribal Community.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, prescribe medications, and perform minor procedures.
• Order and interpret screening tests, labs, X‑rays, EKGs, and maintain detailed electronic health records.
• Provide health and wellness counseling, immunizations, and coordinate care using the Patient‑Centered Medical Home model.
• Supervise and collaborate with nursing staff, medical assistants, and other clinicians to ensure quality care.

Required profile

• Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy degree from an accredited school; Board Eligible/Certified in Internal Medicine.
• Current, unrestricted California medical license, DEA registration, and CPR certification.
• Minimum one year of outpatient clinic experience preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Meaningful Use measures.
• Knowledge of ICD‑9 and ICD‑10 coding guidelines.
