Medical Assistant

About the role

The Medical Assistant provides technical and supportive care to patients in accordance with the treating physician’s instructions and clinic policies. The role supports the mission of the Colusa Indian Community Council and ensures high‑quality, patient‑focused services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams, take vital signs, and record symptom histories.
• Assist physicians with specimen collection, CLIA‑waived tests, blood draws, immunizations, and documentation.
• Act as a translator when needed and provide patients and families with educational materials.
• Maintain medical records, logs, and clinical supplies in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Perform clinic QA audits, cross‑train as a medical receptionist, and help develop operational policies.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience in a similar medical setting.
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program and current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Bilingual ability preferred and willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and interpersonal skills.
