Internal Auditor – Federal Finance Consulting

About the role

Guidehouse is seeking an Internal Auditor to join a high‑performing finance management consulting team that supports federal clients, including a DOJ entity. The role focuses on improving debt‑collection and reporting functions through internal audit, financial analysis, and program‑operations support.

Key responsibilities

• Perform internal audit testing and evaluate management practices for sound internal controls.
• Analyze financial records, court documents, and management reports to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
• Identify, design, and recommend process improvements for finance and debt‑collection operations.
• Support federal CFO organizations in optimizing finance processes, treasury reporting, and annual financial reporting.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement lasting operational changes.

Required profile

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance (active clearance preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Six (6) or more years of federal accounting‑related experience in government accounting, financial management, or auditing.

Required skills

• Experience with Federal Financial Management systems, specifically CGI Momentum.
• Proficiency in business‑intelligence tools such as Power BI.
• SQL querying skills for data analysis.
