Internal Audit Manager

About the role

UnitedHealth Group is hiring an Internal Audit Manager in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The role manages all internal audit and risk management consulting activity within designated specialty areas, leading financial, business process and information systems audits and special projects that assess the existence, effectiveness and efficiency of business controls, financial information and compliance with laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Guide staff and audit contractors on audit recommendations and responses, evaluate the audit team and advise on department and company policies and procedures
• Create, review and approve audit workpapers and communications of audit results in line with department and IIA standards
• Perform internal audits, including planning, control testing and reporting, covering financial (Sarbanes-Oxley) and operational projects
• Take part in risk assessments led by the Audit Management Team and develop or approve project risk assessments, objectives, scope and audit programs
• Lead or participate in special projects and ensure IAAS resources are scheduled and deployed across engagements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, technology or a related discipline
• 5+ years of relevant business experience, including internal audit or public accounting
• Proven understanding of auditing concepts and strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities

Preferred qualifications

• Assurance certification (CPA, CFE, CIA or CISA)
• 2+ years of supervisory experience
• Experience with internal controls over financial reporting (Sarbanes-Oxley, MAR, SOC)
• Understanding of risk and internal control concepts; health insurance or provider experience
