Financial Analyst (FP&A)

About the role

UnitedHealth Group is hiring a Financial Analyst for its Home & Community In-Home Risk Finance team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The position is onsite at the Eden Prairie-1 Optum Circle office and is aimed at someone early in their finance career who wants to build a foundation in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) within a complex healthcare business. It is full time, with flexibility to work any of the company's shift schedules between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Support monthly financial reporting and consolidation of results across business areas, reviewing them for accuracy and completeness
• Perform variance analysis across actuals, forecast and budget to explain financial performance
• Support the administration, tracking and analysis of intersegment agreements, coordinating with Finance partners
• Work with Finance and business teams on ad hoc analysis, reporting requests and FP&A activities
• Help identify and implement ways to simplify, standardize and automate reporting, consolidation and forecasting
• Other responsibilities as required

Required profile

• High school diploma / GED and at least 18 years old
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data
• Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Full-time availability and flexibility to work any shift schedule during business hours

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, large datasets and financial models
• Preferred: Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft Financials
• Preferred: Power BI and/or Tableau for data visualization

What we offer

• Salary of $49,700 to $88,800 annually depending on factors such as education, experience and certifications
