Intermediate Research Systems Analyst

About the role

The Intermediate Research Systems Analyst will develop and modify procedures for UAMS' electronic business suite (Muse) to address complex medical business, regulatory, and research administration challenges. This hybrid position works both on‑campus and remotely, supporting research compliance and system integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and upgrade custom electronic research applications for grants, sponsored programs, COI, animal research, and biosafety.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to define system requirements, create data imports, and establish controls for compliance and data integrity.
• Lead system updates, maintenance, and training, ensuring federal, state, and UAMS regulatory standards are met.
• Serve on research IT and sponsored programs committees, providing leadership and mentorship to user SMEs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience in sponsored research administration or IT within higher education.
• Strong analytical abilities for budgeting and reporting, and effective communication across all organizational levels.

Required skills

• Expertise with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Transdisciplinary knowledge of general systems, computer sciences, and mathematics.
