Associate Systems Administrator

About the role

The Associate Systems Administrator supports and monitors the Windows Server environment across physical and virtual platforms at UAMS. Working under supervision, the role also collaborates with application teams to evaluate software compatibility and participates in a 24/7 on‑call rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and patch Windows Server operating systems on both physical and virtual servers.
• Request and configure new virtual servers and reconfigure existing ones using VRA.
• Install, monitor, and maintain physical server hardware.
• Provide Tier 3 technical assistance to IT staff, vendors, and non‑IT entities connected to the UAMS network.
• Participate in a weekly on‑call rotation covering 24 × 7 support.

Required profile

• Education: Associate’s degree with two years experience, or Bachelor’s degree with one year, or Master’s degree with one year in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience supporting at least two of the following: Windows Server, SAN, Azure, PowerShell, Active Directory, SQL Server, IIS, Intune/Configuration Manager, or File & Print Services.
• Preferred experience in research, higher‑education, or healthcare environments.
