Intensive Outpatient Program – Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist

About the role

The Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist will join Cleveland Clinic Health System’s Intensive Outpatient Program at Marymount Hospital. This PRN position provides both virtual and in‑person psychotherapy services to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual, group, family and crisis counseling, including three‑hour in‑person group therapy sessions (M‑T 9‑12).
• Conduct diagnostic interviews, assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members, agencies, and families to ensure compliance with treatment plans and facilitate discharge planning.
• Supervise and train lower‑level social workers, students, or interns.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record system.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
• Active license (LISW, LPCC, LPC, or LSW) with no substantiated ethics or abuse reports.
• Minimum three years of experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Ability to document clinical findings concisely and navigate multiple electronic platforms.

Required skills

• Advanced clinical skills in psychotherapy and clinical counseling.
• Proficiency in diagnostic interviewing, assessments, and treatment planning.
• Experience delivering virtual therapy sessions.
• Knowledge of federal regulations and documentation standards.
