Instrumentation Technician

About the role

Michelin is hiring an Instrumentation Technician in Louisville. The role covers troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance of process control equipment, in line with the company's quality and environmental management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Apply safety rules such as lockout/tagout, high- and low-voltage maneuvers, and industry regulations.
• Follow quality and environmental management system policies, procedures and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot electronic, pneumatic and process automation problems when needed.
• Carry out quality repairs to process control equipment or take part in instrument repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on process control equipment according to the plant reliability plan.
• Run the metrology program required by the quality and environmental systems.
• Complete assigned project tasks and report all activities in the plant maintenance management system.
• Take part in meetings focused on safety and plant performance.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• One of the following: 2-3 years of experience in a relevant maintenance position; an associate degree in a relevant field; a journeyman card for the position; or military background with relevant technical training.
• Pass the entry-level skills assessment for the craft and a company physical including a hair drug screen.

What we offer

• Pay of $43.97 at Level 1, rising to $45.71 after 120 days if the applicant is a journeyman in their trade, plus a $1.25 shift adder.
