Instructor of Clinical – Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a board‑certified physician to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine as an Instructor of Clinical. The role combines direct patient care in intensive and outpatient settings with teaching, research, and program development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for critically ill patients in the ICU, including ventilator management and life‑support system oversight.
• Conduct pulmonary assessments, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Supervise medical trainees, allied health staff, and nursing teams to ensure high‑quality, safe patient care.
• Participate in quality‑assurance programs, peer review, and departmental research initiatives.
• Develop post‑discharge care pathways and contribute to the growth of clinical programs.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification in Pulmonary, Critical Care, or Sleep Medicine.
• Experience in intensive‑care medicine and outpatient pulmonary care.
• Demonstrated commitment to education, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with federal and state regulations.
