Information Technology Specialist

About the role

The Southwest Louisiana Credit Union is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to provide technical help‑desk support to all users. You will maintain, upgrade and repair the credit union’s equipment while ensuring smooth operation of software and licensing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, prioritize and resolve help‑desk tickets, calls and emails from users.
• Assign tickets, track progress and verify that issues are fully resolved.
• Provide first‑line technical assistance, answer questions and guide users on system status and equipment use.
• Install, maintain, upgrade and repair hardware across all credit union systems.
• Loan and verify software installations, ensuring correct operation.
• Manage hardware and software licensing, and assist with inventory control.
• Log problems, causes and resolutions, and communicate status to management.
• Maintain professional relationships with users, IT personnel and external service providers.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two to three years of hands‑on experience with PC hardware, software support and basic networking.
• Familiarity with credit union products and services is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to train other staff members.
