Information Technology Intern

About the role

Barilla's 2027 Summer Internship Program offers a 10-12-week paid IT internship at its Corporate Americas headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois. The intern works alongside experienced professionals on challenging projects and gains exposure to core IT competencies. The position follows a hybrid model: three days per week onsite (Core Days Monday and Wednesday, plus one other day depending on the role), with arrangements subject to change.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate which systems could move to cloud services and plan the migration
• Create reports on the helpdesk and inventory management system to better manage requests and inventory
• Image and deploy new laptops and mobile devices for employees
• Provide helpdesk coverage and support users, collaborating with local and global teams as needed

Required profile

• Junior year completed in college, with a concentration in Computer Science, Data Science or another STEM major
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective project and time management
• Self-driven, able to work independently and in teams, with solid presentation and communication skills
• Prior experience imaging and deploying laptops is a plus

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Prior experience with Azure or other cloud-based systems is a plus
