Industrial Engineer II/III – Manufacturing Optimization

About the role

The Industrial Engineer II/III is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and supporting production and new product introduction activities at Applied Materials in Gloucester, MA.

Key responsibilities

• Perform methods engineering analysis, including process design, time studies, and workflow optimization.
• Lead or participate in industrial engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct ergonomics and human factors evaluations and implement improvements.
• Design and implement manufacturing layouts, material handling systems, and production flow.
• Support new product introductions, including line design and tooling development.
• Analyze and maintain production capacity models to optimize utilization.
• Develop cost analyses and ROI justifications.
• Establish and maintain standards, procedures, and calibration programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience for Level II or 4–7 years for Level III.
• Functional knowledge, business acumen, problem‑solving, leadership, and impact.
• Ability to work in manufacturing environments, including standing, walking, and PPE requirements.
