About the role
The Department of Chemical Engineering at The University of Tulsa is seeking a motivated Laboratory Research Scientist (ECS‑MCL) to manage daily operations of advanced research equipment. The role involves training new users, developing training materials, handling instrument usage billing, and contributing to instrumentation grants.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operation of advanced research instrumentation.
- Train and onboard new users of laboratory equipment.
- Develop training materials in partnership with the Faculty Liaison for Development.
- Manage billing for instrument usage.
- Contribute as co‑PI or senior personnel on instrumentation and instrument‑development grants.
Required skills
- Operate and maintain scientific instrumentation for materials characterization.
- Experience with thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X‑ray diffraction (XRD), small‑angle X‑ray scattering (SAXS), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
