Assembler I – Manufacturing

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Assembler I to join its manufacturing team in Gloucester, MA. The position involves performing electro‑mechanical assembly tasks, testing, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment used in semiconductor and display production. Key responsibilities

• Perform routine electro‑mechanical assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting and calibration of equipment and sub‑assemblies.
• Adjust, align and conduct “go‑no‑go” tests using fixtures and non‑diagnostic test devices.
• Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish and reassemble units according to work orders, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area, following all health‑and‑safety procedures and reporting hazards.
• Use hand tools, power tools and equipment such as forklifts to install components, switches, wiring harnesses, gears, motors and other parts.

Required profile

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, lifting, bending and working in noisy or clean‑room environments.
• Basic understanding of electro‑mechanical systems and how individual tasks fit within the production team.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
